Care and maintenance
Flower bulbs are low-maintenance plants. After the initial generous amount of water given immediately after planting, only provide flower bulbs with just enough water to compensate for insufficient rainfall.
Here are some tips for enjoying your flower bulbs longer:
- Be sure to continue removing dahlia flowers soon after they fade since this encourages more flowers to develop.
- Provide flower bulbs with plenty of water immediately after planting them.
- Lilies are hardy plants, so they can remain planted where they are and will emerge year after year.
- Other summer-flowering bulbs will have to be lifted from the soil as soon as the plants have died back.
