Outdoors is the new indoors

If you are keen to spend as much time as possible outdoors during summer, why not transform your balcony or terrace into an outdoor room, the perfect extension to your living room? Summer-flowering bulbs are the perfect way to add atmosphere and colour. Think pots brimming with dahlias, gladioli, lilies and begonia to transform your outdoor space into a cosy place.

Why choose summer-flowering bulbs?

Summer bulbs come in a wide variety of shapes and colours. They bloom abundantly and last a long time, often from June until well into September, so you can enjoy them for months. What’s more, these bulbs don’t need too much attention. Once you have planted them in spring, you just need to make sure to water them regularly to enjoy beautiful blooms in summer.

Perfect for small spaces

If you live in the city, or have a small balcony or terrace – no problem! Summer-flowering bulbs also do very well in pots. You can vary with pots in different heights and colours to create a sense of variety and depth.

Enjoy greenery

With summer flowering bulbs, you not only give your balcony or terrace a colourful look; you will also create a cosy outdoor room. Add a comfy chair, put down an outdoor rug, and set an outdoor table in style. It will feel like your living room seamlessly transitions into a floral paradise. Outdoors is the new indoors!

Practical tips

To get the most out of your bulbs, choose proper potting soil and spacious pots with drainage holes to let excess water flow away. If you plant bulbs in smaller pots, the soil will dry out sooner. That is why it is a good idea to water smaller pots more regularly. Put the pots in a (partially) sunny spot, since most summer flowers like warmth and light.
