Fighting stress with gardening

Light and airy

Do you like nice light surroundings? With an uncluttered look? Then keep it simple. A good choice would be begonias, all in the same colour and all planted in various white pots. Another idea would be summer bulbs that match the colours of things like your garden chair cushions or garden furniture.

Romantic musings

The garden is the perfect spot to express your romantic tendencies. Dahlias let you create inviting little corners splashed with sweet colours. Add a few little wrought-iron chairs and tables and there you have it. After some hard work, it’s time to sit back and think about nothing at all.

Tip: For the most beautiful results, plant summer bulbs in the spring, from April through May, once the risk of frost is past. They become available in shops as early as February.

A garden room

Do you really want to feel as if you could use your garden as another room? Well, you can! Next to a tree or wall, plant lots of the same kind of summer bulbs like gladioli and lilies. Once they start flowering in the summer, turn this little spot into a delightful seating area. Hang a lampshade from some old branches or a tree and arrange a nice comfy armchair underneath. Then sit back and enjoy!
